Highlights of 2010

Laurel won first place for 5th graders at the Laguna Art Festival.
Laurel played on her school volleyball team
Laurel's AYSO soccer team won the Regionals, the Mayor's Cup and made it to the semi-finals in Sectionals.
Laurel made a goal in two different shoot outs!!!
Laurel was an excellent student.

Matthew was an excellent student.
Matthew earned his black belt and his first degree black belt!!!
Matthew changed schools and did great!!! He loves his new school.

Cassandra was an excellent student.
Cassandra loves to play soccer.
Cassandra became an avid reader...she loves chapter books.

Andrew loves to give his mommy hugs and kisses. (and he's falling asleep in my arms as I type.)
Andrew has learned to play with other kids.
Andrew started taking a class and loves going to story time at the library.

2010 wasn't the best year, but we are all healthy!!!

Pinewood Derby...

Yikes...who knew the kids activites could take so much time. Last weekend we had Matthew's Boy Scout Pinewood Derby. Then next weekend is the Indian Princess pinewood Derby and the following is the Indian Guide one...

Alfedo and the kids are busily working on the cars. (I hate to add up the sum of all the expenses for these wooden cars.)

Boy Scouts

Matthew joined Boy Scouts this year. Actually he joined at the end of last year, but we didn't do any activities until this year. We went to the zoo with the Pack and had a canned food drive. He's done flag ceremony several tims so far this year.

Trip to Modesto

A couple of weeks ago I drove up to my dad's house and then out to Modesto to visit with Megan and her boys. I didn't remember Modesto being so cute. We had a nice mellow weekend with them. It was nice they put up with all of us.

First Haircut

Andrew went to the barber for the first time on Wednesday and got a haircut...or more accurately he got cleaned up. I say this, since he really didn't have much hair to cut. He was looking like a ragga-muffin.

Surf Camp

Laurel got to go to Surf Camp with her cousins, Justin and Ryan, this year. They seemed to really enjoy it!!! And it was fun for her to spend time with the boys!!!

Lake Tahoe

So, in June we had our annual Cully Lake Tahoe trip!!! We went to a new house and it was beautiful. It also had enough room for everyone.

Well...I'm a bit behind. I'll have to catch up in the next few days. I have pictures from Tahoe, surf camp and Alaska to add.

But I just had to post a funny picture of Andrew...he loves to "smile" for the camera. He's already a ham!!!

A Morning at the Museum

Today I took the kids to the Natural History Museum in LA. We had a great time...and luckily traffic wasn't too bad. We made it up there in less than 40 minutes.

They had a butterfly garden, which was our favorite thing of the day.

We got to see a bunch of dinosaur bones, a look at early America, and then they had a huge collection gems and minerals. The kids loved that.

First Swim

We took Andrew down to the pool for the first time yesterday. He loves taking baths, but didn't seem too sure about the pool. He didn't cry or anything, but wasn't overly excited. At the end I thought he might fall asleep...he sort of leaned back and just sat there.

Schools Out

The kids got out of school on Friday!!! Yeah for summer vacation!!!

Laurel is doing soccer camp, surf camp with her cousins, and a Girl Scout boating camp. Matthew is doing soccer camp and a writing workshop. Cassandra wants to do a camp, but I'm not sure it's going to work.

In between the camps and playdates we have our annual Cully Lake Tahoe trip and a cruise to Alaska. The new school year will be here before we know it. EEK!!!

Last Monday, Cassandra had her watch show for gymnastics...

Laurel and Matthew had their end of year parties at school on Tuesday. Matthew's was a pirate theme with the kindergarten. Laurel's was planned very last minute...

And on Friday, Matthew earned his orange belt. He's very serious about working towards a black belt. That would take him about 3 years. Here he is during the testing...

Andrew's Room

We bought a crib last weekend and set it up in Matthew's room. So now we have the girls room and the boys room.

Laurel helped me pick out the bedding right after we found out we were having another boy. Since she really wanted another sister, I thought this would help her connect with the baby.
